New to the area and want to learn how to fish like a local? Our Teaching Charters are designed just for you. We’ll guide you and a guest through everything you need to know—how to tie essential knots, choose the right bait, read the water, navigate the local fishing spots, and more. Whether you want to head out in our boat or yours, we’ll make sure it’s the right fit for the area you plan to fish. This is a hands-on, personalized experience to help you build confidence and skill on the water.
Booking Terms
At Rusty Bucket Baithouse and Charters, we strive to provide a seamless and enjoyable fishing experience. Please review our booking policies below to ensure a smooth trip. Booking & Payment Policy - Deposit Required: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your trip. The remaining balance is due prior to departure (cash, credit card, or electronic payment accepted). How to Book: Reservations can be made via phone, email, or through our online booking system. Group Size: Prices include up to the listed number of guests per trip. Additional guests may be accommodated for an extra fee (subject to boat capacity). Charter Time & Scheduling - Times of Charters: After you book online, Captain Bill will contact you directly to confirm your actual trip start time. ⚠️ Please note: The time shown during online booking is NOT your final departure time. You will receive a call, text, or email to confirm the scheduled charter time, which may vary based on weather, tides, or trip type. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy - Customer Cancellations: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the trip: A full refund will be issued. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the trip: Deposit is forfeited. Same-day cancellations or no-shows: The full trip price will be charged. Weather-Related Cancellations: Captain Bill prioritizes safety. If weather conditions are unsafe for fishing, the trip will be rescheduled or your deposit refunded in full. Light rain or moderate conditions do not warrant cancellation unless the captain deems it unsafe. Captain Cancellations: If the trip is canceled by the captain (due to mechanical issues, unsafe weather, or unforeseen circumstances), you may choose a full refund or reschedule at your convenience. Late Arrival Policy: Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a safety briefing. Arrivals over 30 minutes late may result in a shortened trip. Arrivals over 1 hour late may be considered a no-show and are non-refundable. No-Show Policy: Guests who do not show up for their scheduled charter without prior communication will be charged the full trip amount. No refunds will be given. What’s Included: Fishing rods, bait, tackle, licenses, and expert guidance from Captain Bill. Fish cleaning is also provided. What to Bring: Sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, drinks, weather-appropriate clothing, and a camera to capture the memories. Alcohol is permitted, in moderation.
